Luis Sampaio graduated Vancouver Film School in 2016 with Honors. Sampaio was Project Manager and Game Balance Designer on his final project, Headventures in the Underworld, which was the first ever Game Design project at Vancouver Film School to score 100% in every category for its final submission.
After graduation, Sampaio returned to Brazil and co-founded Mad Mimic, and currently serves as its Chief Operating Officer. Sampaio was a Project Manager and Game Designer for the studio’s first game, No Heroes Here, which achieved over 10 nominations and awards throughout its development, both national and international. In 2017, No Heroes Here was the first Brazilian game to be selected for the PAX 10 and to win the Game Connection America Developers Award for Best Social Game. This year, No Heroes Here is competing in BIG 2017 as Best Brazilian Game and as Best Multiplayer Game.
This panel will discuss how to develop a good couch game, a game that is fun to play with friends, family and with that special someone. What are the barriers, challenges and good practices when you work with a local multiplayer? How is this genre of gameplay attracting the public?
