Jonathan Harris holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in sociology, both from Stanford University, California, USA. He has over 20 years of video game experience, working for Electronic Arts (EA), the largest US video game developer and publisher. He began his career in the United States, working 10 years in marketing, responsible for the launch of more than 20 titles including Need For Speed, American McGee’s Alice, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, among others. He moved to Brazil in 2003 where he worked in the Brazilian unit of EA for another 13 years. In Brazil, he initially took on the responsibility of managing the marketing team, influencing more than 20 product launches a year. Beginning in 2010, he assumed responsibility for all publishing activities in Brazil, from the administrative aspects to the strategic direction of the business. In that role he also managed the transition from physical to digital distribution, growing the business more than 500% in the last five years, and increasing the company’s market share from 12% to more than 20% by the end of 2016. He is now co-founder and partner of G.A. Interactive Entertainment, a consulting company based in São Paulo, Brazil, which offers consulting services (strategic planning and marketing) for independent game developers and other companies/organizations interested in doing business in the Brazilian video game market.
